Multiplication and Division

This series of interactive excel sheets aimed at Year Three students explores multiplication and division. Answers can be checked each time and new questions generated at the click of a button.

The first sheet generates a series of ten questions to practice the times tables up to 10 × 10.

In the second sheet students are given a multiplication statement and have to create an equivalent addition sum that gives the same answer.

The third sheet generates a multiplication fact that students can then use to solve a series of six related multiplication and division questions.

The following sheet contains 16 multiplication questions. Select the question and the matching answer on the left of the screen.

In the fifth sheet descriptions of a number are revealed by clicking the numbers on the right. Students then have to find a number that fits the description. There is often more than one correct solution in the bank of values to choose from.

The following sheet contains 16 division questions. Select the question and the matching answer on the left of the screen.

The seventh sheet illustrates the remainder when one number is divided by another. In the eighth sheet the values of the numbers used in the divisions are much larger. The following sheet generates a series of six division questions with remainders.

The tenth sheet asks students to complete a multiplication or division statement.

The eleventh sheet explores doubling, and then doubling again. Students have to match pairs of six values. Similarly in the following sheet students have to match values after halving, and halving again.
