Word Equations *suitable for home teaching*
This resource, from the Royal Society of Chemistry, assesses students’ ability to complete word equations through a set of practice exercises. The word equations are for the following examples: • Reaction between acids and alkalis. • Reaction between acids and metals. • Reaction between acids and metal carbonates. • Displacement reactions. • Synthesis reactions. It is designed for use with students aged 11-14 who have been taught to use word equations to represent chemical reactions. The materials will also be useful for students aged 14-16 who need to revisit this topic.
