This resource, from the Royal Society of Chemistry, is an assessment task designed to elicit students’ ideas about chemical stability and reactivity.

The activity is intended to act as a starting point for discussing these ideas in the classroom. Students are provided with diagrams representing the electron arrangement in a sodium atom and ion and asked three questions about their stability and reactivity.
