Mixing and Dissolving Materials
Produced by the Royal Society of Chemistry, this resource provides activity ideas, key vocabulary and background knowledge about mixing and dissolving at primary level. It also aims to develop key skills including: using a thermometer and stopwatch, working cooperatively, choosing and using apparatus carefully, observing and recording and measuring accurately. Investigations are: *Separating mixtures with more than one thing in them *Mixing materials together and how this may cause them to change *Testing which materials dissolve in water *Investigating factors which affect dissolving Science poems and a concept cartoon are also provided to promote discussion and develop understanding.
