Shoeburyness High School set up a Space Academy, and themed their whole Year Eight science scheme of work around space. The PowerPoint gives the background to the project and also includes evidence of the impact of the project in terms of student attitudes and behaviour. The Year Eight scheme of work is provided in six files, with objectives, level descriptors and lesson plans: * Astrobiology: includes ecosystems, photosynthesis and evolution * Human Survival: includes cells, reproduction, inheritance and genetics * Planetary Chemistry: elements and compounds, chemical reactions and reactivity of metals * Reach for the Stars: careers and working in science * Space Travel: includes materials, forces, light and sound * The Universe: includes the solar system, gravity, stars and galaxies
