Assessing Design Innovation: Report
This paper, produced by the Technology Education Research Unit (TERU) at Goldsmiths College, University of London, reports the findings of an assessment of design and technology teaching in primary and secondary schools. A focus of the report was on assessment of design and technology subjects at all stages and particularly at GCSE. It also looked at the freedom that students have to develop their own ideas and prototypes, and the ability to build their own activities and tasks, rather than following a set course - an approach strongly recommended by the researchers.
The authors of this report are: Richard Kimbell, Tony Wheeler, Soo Miller, Jenny Bain, Ruth Wright and Kay Stables.
