Skill 1.7 Advertising a Scientific Journal
Produced by Gatsby Science Enhancement Programme, this activity gives students experience of looking at a scientific or technological journal or magazine.
In looking at the journal, students consider:
* the name of the journal
* the subjects the journal deals with
* how the journal is published
* who is the target audience
* the use of graphics such as pictures, maps, illustrations, graphs and tables
* references, bibliographies and lists of further reading.
Students are then asked to create an advertisement for their title and present it to the class.
