Primary: Respiratory Hygiene

Produced by the Health Protection Agency, this e-Bug resource helps students consider how infections can be spread by coughs and sneezes. The materials consist of teacher guidance, students' activity sheets and stimulus materials.

In this activity, children use a 'sneeze-gun' to investigate how far germs are carried when they sneeze. Through a set of trial experiments, they learn that covering their mouths with a tissue when they cough and sneeze helps to prevent the spread of infection.
