Produced by the British Geological Survey, this poster illustrates how changing climate has influenced the formation of rocks in the UK.

Many rock-forming environments are directly influenced by climate. Were local rocks formed in a desert, or a tropical swamp, or on a cold seabed? What evidence can be observed to show that these environments really existed millions of years ago? This poster illustrates the links between our planet's changing climate and the different rocks which formed as environmental conditions varied through geological time.
