Mathematics challenges (11 to 14 years)

These resources have been provided by Mathematical Education on Merseyside who have been running Challenge and Senior Challenge, take-home competitions for February half term, since the late 1970s.

These challenges are aimed at students aged between 11 and 14 years. Each challenge consists of about eight questions, with illustrations provided by Peter H Ackerley and is accompanied by the solutions. The wide range of mathematics in each challenge is often placed in the context of a theme such as Magic, Space or Cluedo characters and rooms.

Please note the 2008 document without the solutions, and the solutions for the 2011 challenge are unavailable.
