Rock in 11 Dimensions

Rock in 11 dimensions: where physics and guitars collide is the Institute of Physics Schools and Colleges Lecture from 2008. The hour-long lecture is aimed at students aged 14 to 16 but it will also be of interest to students of other ages.

This lecture is loud! It features rock guitar, multidimensions, superstrings and the world's highest energy particle accelerator. The lecture reveals how:
* rock guitars make their distinctive sound
* string vibrations might answer questions about the Big Bang
* the Large Hadron Collider may reveal extra dimensions and show us the conditions close to the beginning of the Universe.
