Atacama Pathfinder Experiment Telescope (APEX)

Produced in 2005 by the European Southern Observatory (ESO), this video first looks at the Big Bang and evolution of the Universe. It then goes on to show how the ESO are developing an observatory in Chile. The APEX programme is a pathfinder for ALMA, the Atacama Large Millimetre/submillimetre Array. This mission will find many targets that ALMA will be able to study in great detail.

Further videos are available from the ESO website.
