Route Core Element 8 - Legislation
This resource list has been created to support the T Level Technical Qualification in Digital Support Services.
The aim of this element is to teach students about the importance of a range of legislative and regulatory requirements specific to the digital sector. Students will also look at the role of criminal law, industry standards and professional codes of practice and where they can access this information to ensure they are keeping their knowledge in these areas up to date and compliant.

The Digital Economy Act 2017 (the Act)
This resource is related to R4.1 and 4.1 and covers The Digital Economy Act 2017 (the Act), this act makes provision about electronic communications infrastructure and services, including the creation of a broadband Universal Service Order (USO), to give all premises in the UK a legal right to request a minimum standard of broadband connectivity, expected to be 10 megabits per second (Mbps). The Act also introduces reform of the Electronic Communications Code (ECC), and provides greater clarification on data sharing between public bodies.

The WEEE directive requires everything from fridges, IT & telecommunications equipment through to monitoring and control instruments to be diverted from landfill.
