NUSTEM careers
Most of NUSTEM’s programmes and activities portray STEM skills and knowledge in the context of the workplace, building students’ vocabulary and confidence. Incorporating a careers-linked approach brings real benefit to your students, and helps you align your teaching with the Gatsby Careers Benchmarks.
Encounter Edu
Encounter Edu works with scientists around the world to support Global Education of environmental concerns and the work of the scientists in some of the most ecologically rich parts of the world. Their classroom resources showcase the work of the scientists and they often host live lessons where children can engage with the scientists in their places of work.
STEM careers toolkit: primary STEM careers toolkit
This STEM Careers Toolkit for primary teachers has been designed, with teachers at every step of the way, to provide:
• an accessible guide to government policy on careers education and information, advice and guidance for young people across the four countries of the UK
• evidence about the influential and key roles that teachers can have on their students’ career choices across all phases of education
• good practice tips and examples of how to successfully relate subject knowledge and the curriculum to careers choice and the labour market, directly linked to the National STEM Learning Centre’s resource collection, a bank of over 10,000 resources
• links to the key in-depth sources of information, from the UK’s four inspectorates’ guidance for schools to the most robust sources of labour market and careers information

The Centre for Industry Education Collaboration (CIEC) has a long history of producing science education resources that look at how science is applied in real-life contexts. The resources in this collection allow children to gain investigative skills, understand scientific concepts and also enjoy group work.

STEM Careers Profiles to Inspire Your Students
Students are often unaware of the opportunities open to them if they study STEM subjects at school. This resource, comprising of seven case studies/profiles, is designed to increase awareness of just some of the potential careers open to them in international development.
Dress the site worker
This interactive online game, designed for pupils aged 7 to 11, uses different job roles in a fictitious power station to highlight the work that each job entails and the protective clothing that is needed to do it safely.
