THE FINDINGS:

Children generally enjoy science lessons and the practical elements- KS1 enjoyed finding out about plants around the school site.

As part of a learning challenge, children enjoy creating their own questions and scientific enquiries. (often these go far beyond the statutory requirements)

Older children feel confident planning their own investigations when provided with materials, particularly having the opportunity to collaborate in the creation of possible solutions.

KS2 are confident with the 'working scientifically' (discussing and developing fair testing)

Scientific vocabulary is something children feel is a strength and this is further supported with independent research.
