FAQs

What is STEM?

STEM is an acronym, which stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics. It also encompasses design and technology and computing.

Why is CPD important?

Research has shown that continuing professional development (CPD) not only has an impact on teachers’ classroom practice and student outcomes – it also makes educators less likely to leave the teaching profession.

Do you work directly with young people?

Our network of over 30,000 STEM Ambassadors work with young people of all ages across the UK.

Can you provide access to teachers for interviews?

We have a wide network of teachers and technicians who we work closely with across the UK. If you are looking for a STEM teacher or technician for a case study or to interview we will do our best to connect you with an educator.

Are you able to provide experts for interview?

We have a number of award-winning educators which work closely with us. Our Chief Executive, Yvonne Baker, and our Associate Director, Pauline Hoyle, are both available for comment, interview or to write editorial pieces on a variety of educational issues.
