Primary conferences on your doorstep

Various dates and venues available.

Run by our Science Learning Partnerships, and with conferences taking place all around the country, our primary conferences provide outstanding learning opportunities linked to topical developments in primary science teaching.

ESERO-UK primary conference

Date: 31 May 2017

Venue: Manchester Central Convention Complex

Space can be an exciting and engaging context to teach science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects in primary schools. This annual conference, organised by ESERO-UK, will use a variety of space-related contexts to bring this subject into the classroom.

 

Primary science conference

Date: 28 June 2017

Venue: National STEM Learning Centre

“Full of lots of inspirational ideas for the classroom to make science fun.” – Past participant

 This one day conference will bring together primary teachers, science subject leaders and teaching assistants who are interested in developing science within their schools. There will be a range of optional sessions to choose from, allowing you to tailor the conference to your needs.

 

Primary mathematics conference

Date: 29 June 2017

Venue: National STEM Learning Centre

From Early Years to the end of primary, explore ways of developing fluency, reasoning and problem solving across the mathematics curriculum. There will be a range of optional sessions to choose from, allowing you to tailor the conference to your needs.

 

Primary computing conference

Date: 30 June 2017

Venue: National STEM Learning Centre

In collaboration with Computing at School (CAS) Regional Centre for Yorkshire and Humber, this year’s computing conference has something for every teacher of computing. With dedicated sessions suited for both primary and secondary teachers, the conference will be presented by a variety of experts and knowledgeable Master Teachers.

 

Summer school for newly and recently qualified teachers

Date: 10 July 2017

Venue: National STEM Learning Centre

Have you recently completed your NQT year and would like to further develop your teaching skills? If so, this summer school is the one for you. Take the time to reflect upon your practice and discover new and exciting practical activities you can take back to the classroom.
