Ultimate STEM Challenge: helping students make the world a better place
Your students are the future so maybe they should start thinking about what sort of world they want to live in.
With all the panic surrounding climate change, plastics in the oceans and the damage humans have done to the planet, everything can feel a bit doom and gloom. But within that grey fog of misery, there’s a bright spark that can give us hope – your students.
If today's young people want to be a force for change on this planet then they will need skills in problem solving and it’s up to us to support them to develop those skills.
Through the exploration of practical science, engineering and technology, the Ultimate STEM Challenge asks students to reimagine a solution to a real-life problem. Your students have the opportunity to work on something that truly matters to them which means they will be engaged to learn and eager to develop their skills.
Last year’s winners developed a sustainable way to create electricity from moving water and won £500 to spend on equipment or field trips as well as receiving an Ultimate STEM experience day.
Could your students be this year’s winners?
The deadline for entering the Ultimate STEM Challenge has been extended until 1 March 2019, meaning there’s still plenty of time to get involved. Show your students that they too can make an impact and learn how to improve their world for the better.
