The STEM Directory, an online directory of educational STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) activities has found a new home with STEM Learning.

The STEM Directory is an online catalogue of activities that enhance the teaching of STEM in schools and colleges across the UK. Created by the Royal Institution, the STEM Directory will be hosted by STEM Learning on

Gill Collinson, Head of Centre and Partnerships for STEM Learning, said:

“The STEM Directory a hugely valuable source of enrichment and enhancement activities to inspire teachers and technicians across the UK, and STEM Learning is delighted to be taking this invaluable repository of activities forward.”

Professor Gail Cardew, Director of Science and Education at the Royal Institution, said:

“The STEM Directory has successfully connected thousands of school children with activities that have enriched their learning, helping to inspire a lifelong interest in science.  We are delighted to be working in partnership with STEM Learning to bring this great resource to many more teachers across the country, and look forward to receiving many applications for our grants to support schools less able to afford the cost of enhanced activities.”

Teachers can search the Directory by subject, age and location and can use the reviews left by other teachers to help them choose an activity.

Teachers can also apply for the Royal Institution’s STEM Enrichment and Enhancement (E&E) grants, designed to help integrate science, technology, engineering and mathematics activities into school practice and to support teachers’ professional development. Applications open on Monday 25 September and close on Tuesday 31 October.
