Let Teachers SHINE competition now open
The 2017 Let Teachers SHINE competition is currently accepting applications.
SHINE is an education charity that gives children the opportunity to acquire the skills and confidence they need to turn their potential into success at school and beyond, irrespective of their background or family income.
They support educational programmes to raise the attainment and aspiration of children from economically deprived areas in England.
The Let Teachers SHINE competition is open to any teacher in England who inspires children’s education and wishes to apply for funding in order to realise their ideas.
Teachers could work with whole classes, small groups or individuals. Some of the recent winning projects have included peer tutoring, story-based orienteering using tablets, and kinaesthetic learning through sports. A winning idea might involve superb after-school programmes or innovative use of technology.
The deadline for applications is midday on Monday 24 April 2017.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to present their idea to a panel which will take place from 16–18 May 2017 in London and 17 May 2017 in Leeds.
