Grants available for your engineering projects

The Engineering Education Grant Scheme provides support for UK-based educational projects that aim to increase engineering knowledge in young people aged 5-19.

Funding is available for UK-based engineering projects, which aim to inspire young people with the world of engineering. As this year’s scheme is being supported by the Year of Engineering, the IET and IMechE are looking for applications which focus on the theme of ‘Engineering improves lives’.

Any organisation capable of developing and delivering UK-based educational activities can apply. They are particularly keen to receive applications for projects from teams with diverse expertise, a range of skills from a variety of sectors, and projects must involve IET or IMechE members.

There are two levels of funding available:

  • awards of up to £5,000 are available for standard applications
  • up to four awards of £15,000 are available each year

The closing date is 6 April 2018 for projects taking place from 1 June 2018. Decisions will be announced week commencing 28 May 2018.
