Seeing the world with new eyes

On Friday, July 28th, the European Space Agency astronaut, Paolo Nespoli will launch to the International Space Station, with NASA astronaut, Randy Bresnik, and Russian cosmonaut, Sergey Ryazanskiy.

An experienced astronaut, at the age of 60, it will be Paolo’s third spaceflight.

In June, astronaut Thomas Pesquet returned from his successful mission to the ISS.  Thomas and his fellow crew broke the record for the most time spent on scientific research on the station.  He also completed two space walks and took part in an inflight call with teachers in Ireland, Romania and Portugal.

Astronauts often say that the greatest impact that spaceflight has on them is to see the world from a new perspective.  Thomas reflects on his six month stay on the space station is this video.
