ESERO-UK and Royal Astronomical Society teacher conference

We have an exciting free event taking place on 1 July in Nottingham, our teacher CPD conference will include sessions across the sciences on the theme of space and astronomy, linked in to the curriculum in upper secondary and post-16.

We have a selection of experts including our very own Tom Lyons, Clare Mcloughlin from the Royal Astronomical Society, Dr. Taj Bhutta from the Institute of Physics and Professor Andy Newsam from National Schools’ Observatory.

We’re also very pleased to announce we will be joined by the face of yourlife - physicist and science communicator, Dr. Melanie Windridge. Melanie will discuss how the wonder of the aurora can fit into teaching and also introduce her new blog of Aurora Stories.  Come and join the discussion.

Dr. Taj Bhutta will be leading a session on Exoplanets, planets that orbit stars other than our Sun. A recent blog Exoplanets – is there life beyond our solar system and a collection of resources developed by the Institute of Physics may help bring this new area of research into the classroom.
