RSPB Bempton Cliffs - Schools on Reserves
RSPB Bempton Cliffs is one of the UK's top wildlife sites and one of Europe's most accessible seabird colonies. We offer outstanding, engaging learning experiences for school children (and their accompanying adults!) from Early Years to KS3.
- Become ornithologists for the day and explore the adaptations and food chains of our exquisite seabird species in our 'Discovering Birds' KS2 session.
- Discover your inner Geologist in 'Investigating Coasts' for KS2 and investigate the amazing natural forces of erosion and weathering on our coastline and the impact it has had on wildlife and people.
- Switch on your super senses and become trainee Zoologists in our 'Seasonal Sensory Walk' for KS1, discovering the habitats and creatures on site whilst exploring the season around us.
- Take on our Gannet Challenge with your class in 'Brilliant Birds' for KS1 and explore their lives from egg to adult. Its a heap of fun and learning with our giant cuddly gannet friends - Gordon & Goldie!
You can book for a half day or full day session and we offer exciting joint trips for a full day of adventures with our partners Sewerby Hall in our 'Tin Hats & Top Hats' session and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust in our 'Above & Below' session. Please do contact us for more information.
A visit to RSPB Bempton Cliffs is always a 'wow' moment. Towering over the North Sea on chalk cliffs we can help bring your curriculum to life and spark learning and aspirations for the future.
The cliff tops are all fenced with safe viewing platforms, accessible paths, an indoor schools shelter and access to toilets. We also have picnic areas available. We are a Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge Scheme approved site and you will recieve full Risk Assessments and information to make your day a success. To book this activity, please contact:
