The Future of Engineering
Come and be part of our engaging and interactive training session crafted for pupils who wish to pursue a profession in Engineering! Taught by young professionals from the industry, our workshop is relatable and enables learners to gain practical knowledge in essential skills and principles that form the basis of an Engineering degree's initial years. This workshop is suitable for students aged 13 and above.
The workshop entail five different stations so students can explore different areas of the field. Each station involves an interactive session:
- Materials Science & Robotics
- Aerospace Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
You will also receive a certificate of participation to include in your record of achievement.
1. Understanding Fundamental Engineering Principles
Students will develop a foundational understanding of key engineering concepts, such as materials science, robotics, aerodynamics, structural integrity, and electrical systems, which are essential to different fields within engineering.
2. Enhancing Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking Skills
Through interactive sessions, students will improve their problem-solving abilities and apply critical thinking to real-world engineering challenges, fostering creativity and innovative thinking.
3. Developing Hands-On Practical Skills
Students will gain practical experience by engaging in hands-on activities related to robotics, building structures, and working with mechanical and electrical systems, helping to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
4. Building Teamwork and Communication Skills
By working collaboratively in small groups at each station, students will enhance their teamwork and communication skills, both of which are crucial for success in engineering projects and the wider professional environment.
5. Gaining Insight into Engineering Careers and University Pathways
Students will learn about the various career opportunities in engineering and gain an understanding of the academic pathways, including the entry requirements and skills needed for pursuing engineering degrees at university.
