BIG Primary STEM Day - North Yorkshire Coast

What is the BIG STEM Primary Day?

This event is part of a brand new careers and STEM related programme of activity, supported by employers aims to excite and showcase the variety of STEM job roles, challenge stereotyping, provide opportunity to explore careers and understand future pathways into STEM.

The BIG STEM Aspirations programme is working in partnership with 12 Primary Schools across the area this academic year, led by NYBEP, funded by the Department of Education, to support the priorities of unlocking the potential of young people across the North Yorkshire Coast Opportunity Area, it aims to provide primary students with an holistic programme of STEM activity this academic year.

Our invite and ask!

We are inviting employers and organisations to be part of this brand new event on the 18^th May which we hope will be exciting and an inspirational day for up to 240 Year 5/6 students from Primary Schools across the area that have been selected to be part of the program.

We are looking for people with a passion to excite young people to facilitate inspirational, hands on sessions for both for students to participate in during day and to inspire teachers with ideas that can be easily replicated in the classroom.  Sessions will be 25-30 minutes long with approx. 25 students attending each session,  with the same session repeated 5 times across the day.
