Graphical Solution of Equations

This program allows students to solve pairs of equations by drawing 2 graphs and looking at the points of intersection. The graphs can be cubic, quadratic or linear. The 1st interactive sheet allows students to plot pairs of graphs by changing the coefficients of y=ax3+bx2+cx+d. It allows students to answer the sets of questions found on the 2nd sheet. The 3rd sheet enables students to draw graphs of cubic functions and to see their tables of values. The final interactive sheet shows the graph of a cubic function and students need to select the line to draw in order to solve a given cubic equation. Solutions can be revealed and new functions can be generated.

There are also 5 sheets of questions which may be suitable for duplication for class use.

Note:
This program was designed to be viewed on a screen with a resolution of 1024 x 768. You may have to adjust the resolution of your screen for the pages to display as was originally intended. The program uses macros which need to be enabled on users' machine.
