Molecules in Outer Space

In this activity, students use images, discussion and a team exercise to learn about molecules in space - leading them on to the possibility of life elsewhere in the Universe. Students should be able to explain that:

*new substances are formed when atoms combine

*substances with covalent bonds may form simple molecular structures

*the rates of many reactions depend on the frequency and energy of collisions between particles
