My Wild Life Report: Exploring Childhood Memories of Nature 2011-2013

This report considers the findings of Froglife’s My Wildlife Project which began in 2011 with an aim of investigating biodiversity and the way children’s interactions with nature have changed over time. The two year project involved collecting memories that older people have about their childhood, which helps to answer the question of how and why people enjoy contact with nature.

The data which forms the basis of the report comes from 300 written memories, 25 interviews and a survey of 32 children. It takes into account the wildlife and landscapes remembered and the level of interaction we need to remember these experiences into adulthood.

The book created during the project may be found here: My Wild Life: a Family Guide to Wildlife Spotting and Fun Outdoors
