This resource comprises of the following activities: *Geodesic domes: In this activity, students build a geodesic dome, suitable for a moonbase. *Choosing the site: students must research information about different possible sites for a moonbase and use the habitat requirements sheets to decide which site is most suitable. *The lunar landscape: students must research the topology and geology of the lunar surface to answer questions on this worksheet. *Materials for the Moon: this worksheet looks at the use of self-healing materials for a moonbase. Investigating meteor strikes: this activity requires students to plan and complete an investigation into meteor impacts. They can then plot a graph of crater diameter vs. kinetic energy. *Planning the base: students must use their investigations and research into site, materials, structures, meteor impact and human needs to design their moonbase. *Presenting your design: this sheet provides a checklist for a poster presentation on the moonbase design.
