Get Set Demonstrate

These resources were produced as part of National Science & Engineering Week 2013, following a competition to find the most popular science demonstrations.

Teachers and technicians nominated their favouriet video demonstrations, and judges then chose the best to be turned into videos with accompanying written guides. The aim is to encourage more use of inspiring science demonstrations in UK secondary schools.

The resources were funded by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation.

Just an observation: we run a very full programme during NSEW and therefore couldn't really take part in National demo day. we would love to get involved in this initiative but could it be not in NSEW, even a week later perhaps?

NSEW

Thanks for the feedback, Anne. When deciding when to hold Demo Day we had to balance the fact that during NSEW schools are more likely to be able to run off-time-table activities with the fact that some schools already have full programmes during NSEW. It's brilliant that your school is one of the ones with a full programme - thanks for your participation! For some schools, though, Demo Day offers a way to get involved with NSEW, which they otherwise may not do or their involvement may not otherwise involve demos. We haven't yet decided when next year's Demo Day will be, so we'll certainly take your feedback into consideration!
