Join UK-leading organisation Caterpillar for a placement where you can immerse yourself in the world of STEM outside of the classroom.
Location: Caterpillar, Frank Perkins Way, Peterborough, PE1 5FQ
Placements are available with Caterpillar throughout the year (term time and holidays), supported by £1000 of ENTHUSE bursary funding.
The next scheduled placement will take place from in October 2019. Prior to the placement, teachers will be required to attend an induction meeting.
The final part of the scheme is a one-day professional development experience held 4 to 6 months after your placement.
This opportunity is suitable for secondary and further education STEM teaching professionals and/or professionals with additional responsibility for careers.
The placement week will be divided in to 15 sessions, giving you the chance to meet a wide variety of employees who will talk to you about their career routes, job roles and how STEM is used in their daily work. You will visit many areas of the business to see how we use different technologies to design, build and test engines as well as participate in activities which will help develop your understanding of how STEM is used across the company. Following the placement, you will look at further partner activities with Caterpillar, including a tour of the factory and site for students aged 16 years or older.
