Teaching post-16 GCSE mathematics resit SL452
Develop strategies and pedagogical approaches to help your post-16 students gain a deeper understanding of the key maths topics when resitting GCSE mathematics.
Summary
We know how vital it is that mathematics at key stage three builds upon the mathematical experience’s students experience at primary school - and this course shows you how!
You'll develop techniques to improve problem solving skills and resilience in the context of hard to teach topics encountered in key stage three – including fractions, proportional reasoning, standard form and powers, the geometry of arithmetic and geometric sequences, exploring graphs using technology, solving problems in three dimensions and Venn diagrams in probability.
“Really enjoyed the course. So valuable to have time to reflect on Maths with colleagues and to discuss topics in depth. It's given me so many ideas to take back to school… Really impressive setup here!” Past participant
