Meet micro:bit v2 NS011
This course will provide an introduction to computer science at the first/second level and provide practical workshops using Micro:bit V2
Summary
This course will provide an introduction to computer science covering First and Second level evidencing why it is so important for our learners. It will provide practical workshops introducing and using Micro:bit version 2, allowing delegates to explore the purpose of a Micro:bit, how to programme the Micro:bit to carry out a range of tasks and how it can enhance computer science outcomes.
This course will develop skills and confidence needed to plan, facilitate and evaluate a Micro:bit project within your own class or setting. The course comes with resources other materials required for use in the practical workshops. We will also share our learning via Microsoft Teams and consider a variety of useful websites/apps and other resources to further develop computer science learning.
To apply for this course please contact SSERC directly (enquiries@sserc.scot) who will forward you the necessary information. Shortly after the published closing date for applications the Administration Team at SSERC will send to successful applicants:
- confirmation of an offer of a place on the course together with details on enrolment procedures
- information on ENTHUSE funding and how to apply for such a subsidy
- a set of terms and conditions which you must meet in order to qualify for an ENTHUSE subsidy
If you are a supply teacher you may still qualify for an ENTHUSE subsidy; please contact SSERC to establish your eligibility
