Leading subject knowledge in the new primary curriculum: physical world NY020


Summary

This has been designed to support primary teachers by enhancing and improving your teaching of physics within the new primary science curriculum. You will explore strategies to engage children in primary physics and in turn develop your own subject knowledge.

You will also be given the opportunity to explore and challenge any misconceptions you may have about the physical world.

This is a residential course, fees include meals and accommodation for the duration of the course. Course fees vary for participants outside the UK. Please contact enquiries@stem.org.uk for more information.

Outcomes

You will be able to:

  • acquire subject knowledge at a higher level, which will aid your understanding of primary science
  • understand the level required for physics in the primary science curriculum
  • describe a range of strategies to teach physics in the primary science curriculum

ENTHUSE Awards are bursaries which are available to teachers, lecturers, teaching assistants and technicians from state funded schools, academies or colleges across the UK. ENTHUSE Awards contribute towards the costs of attending world-class continuing professional development (CPD) provided by the National STEM Learning Centre.
