Intermediate mouse genetics HC514
A training course for research and technical staff with a basic knowledge of mouse genetics who want to extend their knowledge further.
This course will cover aspects of more advanced genetics including multiple allele crosses and integrity of genetic backgrounds. It will provide overviews on establishing lines from transgenesis including genome editing and conventional targeting technologies. This is intended to inform breeding strategies and calculations rather than give a complete guide to the molecular biology. This course will be suitable for senior animal technicians, managers and research students who need to manage colonies of genetically modified animals.
Following this course you will have an understanding of:
- genetic integrity of inbred lines
- multiple allele inheritance calculations
- establishing Genetically Altered lines from modern transgenic technologies
A working knowledge of genetic inheritance is required.
Barrier restrictions: Allergies to rodents or latex.
