This course is designed for support staff working with secondary students in mathematics who wish to develop their mathematical knowledge and enhance the support currently given to students.

Explore ways of working that promote students’ progress in mathematics, and also develop your knowledge of the mathematics curriculum and mathematical pedagogy.

During the course you will explore:

  • proportional reasoning
  • fractions, decimals and percentages: making the links between topics
  • algebra with understanding
  • progression in calculation
  • literacy and dyscalculia
