Physics in the Capital 003 SP102 / EA11

Physics in the Capital is for all secondary teachers in London who deliver Physics content to students. We welcome specialists and non-specialists teaching key stages 3-5 and encourage anyone who attends to share anything excellent they do within their practice. It is run in partnership between the Stimulating Physics Network (SPN) and Institute of Physics (IOP).

 

The goals of Physics in the Capital are:

 

• To establish a strong network of Physics teaching enthusiasts across London

• Ensure that all people who teach Physics have access to appropriate support

• Keep teachers up to date on current developments in Physics education

• To share best practice within our community

 

The meeting has a soft start at 16:30 with tea, coffee, and some 'Physics bits' to start conversation. We formally start at 17:00 to allow all teachers across London appropriate time to travel.

 

In the third meeting Niloufar will provide an update on IOP support before Jed, Luke, Henry and James (SPN), run parallel sessions. The first will look at all things around pressure and particles at KS3/4, the second will be a session on the fantastic Perimtier Institute resources for use at KS5. You can pick your session on the day. 4. The event is free, and we are keen for teachers of all experience levels to attend, if you are new to the profession and puzzled about how best to tackle forces come along, if you have been mastering A-Level teaching for 20 years and have wisdom to share - come along!
