The Aim Of The Meeting
The meeting is a chance for collaboration with Science subject leaders, so you can share information and develop as leaders and classroom practioner. We have worked together to identify the areas that we feel we would like to focus on. The following were identified and will be used to structure the work done at the Network Meetings
Priorities:
- Progression of skills and knowledge in the curriculum.
- Assessment
- Reasoning and why investigations are carried out.
- Ideas for practical activities in KS1
- Making Science real, experimental ideas
- Subject Knowledge, scientific enquiry
- How to teach effectively and with excitement
- Links with other schools, wider opportunities

- Wider Opportunities
- Resources
- Schemes that are recommended
The meeting on 18th January will focus on:
Working Scientifically - teaching and assessing effectively This will be led by Emma Pughe from STEM
How to use and loan resources from Science Oxford with Andrew Kensley
The Big Science event and In house Science Fair
The hub will fund paying Emma on this occasion but as a consequence we will need everyone who attends to sign up to STEM and log on to book their place using this booking link.
