Summary
Join the Kent and Medway Grammar School Association Computer Science Professional Development Group. This is the first of our in-person biannual network meetings of teachers within the computing departments of the Kent and Medway Grammar School Association. Computing teachers from non-selective schools are also welcome.
Effective teaching is underpinned by the accurate use of assessment, enabling teachers to check knowledge and understanding of children. The use of accurate assessment allows teaching to be adapted and personalised, improving the learning journey for students.
During this meeting, we will include this CPD aims to improve teachers’ knowledge of their students through a range of formative and summative assessment strategies whilst considering the importance of accurate assessment. During this short course, you’ll explore formative assessment strategies and their key characteristics, such as using general questioning to gauge student understanding and hinge questioning. You’ll explore how to effectively make use of summative assessments including baseline assessments and diagnostic questions.

This course is designed for teachers of KS3 and KS4 computing.

Scheduled live, interactive online sessions led by an experienced practitioner.
How long is this course?
This course consists of one session, consisting of 1 hour and 30 minutes of teaching time.
