Leading primary science RX005 / NB08
Summary
During the course, participants will consider why it is important for children to engage in quality science learning. It is important that subject leaders have a clear vision for what this science learning looks like in the classroom and also have clear expectations about the curriculum that is delivered across the school. Participants will have time to become more familiar with the National Curriculum and will consider how to develop this into their school curriculum, enabling them to clearly explain their curriculum intent. The course will highlight the key role of the science subject leader in ensuring that the intended curriculum is successfully implemented and begin to evaluate methods of monitoring to identify the impact of the school’s science curriculum. Finally, the course will provide participants with the opportunity to consider how the science curriculum can be widened using CPD and online resources.
