Assessment – How, Why, What?

Reflecting on the latest research evidence what does assessment look like in science at your school? How does assessment inform planning learning and minimise workload.

An interactive session where working with other subject leads you will look at the research findings and develop your own thinking and actions to support improving pupil outcomes and your teams capacity.

Reaching grade 9.

This session will reflect on your current experience in your team and reflect on the strategies employed for your most able students to allow them to succeed in assessment and challenge their thinking.

You will have the opportunity to take away strategies to implement with your most able pupils and develop capacity within your science team.

Meeting the Gatsby benchmarks through enrichment opportunities in your Science curriculum.

How effective is your development of student’s awareness of careers and employability skills? How do you know? This session will allow reflection on the use of curriculum activities to embed understanding and experience of careers in your science curriculum. We will explore how pupils can want to do better at science as they see its relevance for them.

Bring what works well for you and be ready to pick up top tips from other science leads.
