Environmental Science NS512 / A23
Summary
This course will support the delivery of NQ Environmental Science by allowing participants to explore innovative practical work and field work. Assignments have been re-introduction for academic year so focus will be on practical work that supports assignments as well as learning and teaching across course content. The course will include input from the SQA implementation manager for Environmental Sciences and input from a STEM ambassador working within renewable energies, in line with the Career Education Standard.

- confirmation of an offer of a place on the course together with details on enrolment procedures
- information on ENTHUSE funding and how to apply for such a subsidy
- a set of terms and conditions which you must meet in order to qualify for an ENTHUSE subsidy
If you are a supply teacher you may still qualify for an ENTHUSE subsidy – please contact SSERC to establish your eligibility.
Who is it for?
Teachers of Environmental Science - this is a diverse group of teachers ranging from biology, chemistry, physics geography.
What topics are covered?
Hands-on activities related to soil analysis, environmental chemistry, fieldwork and sampling strategies, photosynthesis, ecosystems and renewable energy.

Outcomes
Participants will be able to:
- develop strategies to enhance enjoyment and achievement through practical work in NQ Environmental Science
- explore creative approaches to practical and field work at N4/N5/Higher level
- receive a kit of resources to support learning and teaching in their classrooms
