Summary
Invite to all Primary Schools where we will be joined by The Marine Conservation Society to explore how your school can take part in this year’s Great British Beach Clean.
Every September, thousands of people take part in this popular event, this year it’s taking place each day between Friday 15th – Sunday 24th September 2023.
Taking part in a beach clean and litter survey can help your school reach its sustainability goals and take full advantage of outdoor spaces for learning. If your school can’t make it to the coast, no problem! That’s where the Source to Sea: Litter Quest comes in.The Great British Beach Clean is part of The Marine Conservation Society’s Citizen Science work, directly linking to all core curriculum areas, as well as exploring first-hand the necessary skills required for careers in conservation.
It’s the perfect opportunity to kickstart the academic year and run an innovative cross-curricular project across the week, building on knowledge and skills at each stage. By improving their local environment, young people will develop a sense of social responsibility and awareness of how to take personal action.
