Summary

Get going with a STEM Club (PRIMARY / SECONDARY)

 

This session is for teachers planning on starting (or restarting) an extra-curricular club engaging in STEM-based activities.

 

This session will enable participants to establish a STEM club that is sustainable, engaging and meets the needs of members and club leaders alike.

 

We will use the STEM Clubs Quality Mark (SCQM) Bronze Award criteria as our framework for getting the STEM club up and running. These criteria represent the fundamentals of running a successful STEM club, and by engaging with them from the start participants will be able to register and submit an application for SCQM Bronze Award within a year of their STEM club getting going. The STEM Club Quality Mark provides recognition of the benefits that STEM enrichment through STEM clubs brings to the school curriculum and provide STEM club leaders with a framework for excellent provision.

 

There will be a follow up session in the summer term where participants will create an action plan for their STEM club for the following year, building on their experiences to plan for sustainable engagement.
