New Subject Leader and Subject Leader Primary Support Package RN913 / B11

Following the recent Ofsted Finding the optimum – Science Report Feb 2023 recommendations for primary science, the local SLP have recently put together some new packages of primary science CPD. These aim to allow schools to address some of the common areas to develop/embed further such as working scientifically, assessment, transition Y6 to Y7 and maths and science links. These packages are suitable for either:

• new primary science SLs, or for primary science SLs where primary science has not been a key focus in recent years and science teaching and learning needs developing.
• More established and experience primary science SLs, where science teaching and learning is already developed and ready to be embedded further.

In addition, we have scheduled an interesting and very topical ‘linking primary maths and science’ series of CPD sessions that includes a Face-to-Face full day at Slimbridge WWT. As part of the package, your Maths and Science SLs will both be able to attend the remote CPD sessions together.
