Summary

This course will cover a range of practical activities aligned to the Science Benchmarks published by Education Scotland, and SQA national qualifications for Biology. This will be suitable for Biology teachers or technicians. A wide range of topics are covered, with one full day dedicated to outdoor learning, ecology and sustainability.

  • confirmation of an offer of a place on the course together with details on enrolment procedures
  • information on ENTHUSE funding and how to apply for such a subsidy
  • a set of terms and conditions which you must meet in order to qualify for an ENTHUSE subsidy

If you are a supply teacher you may still qualify for an ENTHUSE subsidy – please contact SSERC to establish your eligibility

Participants will be able to:

  • Hands-on, practical opportunities to enhance the curriculum in various CfE 3rd and 4th level Science benchmarks and SQA biology curricula.
  • Health and safety guidance to support the delivery of practical activities
  • A range of electronic resources to bring back to class
  • A bag of “giveaways” to support the delivery of the practical activities back in school.
