Summary

Develop the background subject knowledge required to help planning and teaching physics for key stage 4. It will build on your knowledge from undertaking the key stage 3 physics course.  Start your key stage 4 teaching with the tools and confidence to plan and teach effective learning for your physics classes. You will explore ways of building student understanding, taking into account misconceptions and common issues in teaching these concepts.

Funding is available for this course to schools in the North East and Yorkshire Region. Please email slp-admin@sghs.org.uk to find out what funding is available for your school.

Electricity and magnetism - Thurs 23rd Feb

Forces - Mon 27th March

Waves- Tues 25th April

Space and radioactivity - Thurs 22nd June

Energy - Mon 3rd July

Please note funding for this course is available for maintained schools in the North East, Yorkshire and Humber region only. *Schools will be invoiced the full amount of £40 and on attendance of the course £20 will be refunded via a Teacher Release payment.
