OFSTED Research Review - 5 Sessions - NSAT RB198 / C175
Summary
These sessions are linking to the Ofsted Research Review which has 5 key elements to address for primaries -
NSAT schools - any member of staff can attend these sessions, all we ask is that you book on so that we know how many are attending. The sessions are being funded by NSAT and STEM Learning making them FREE for you to attend.
Session 1: Managing, Monitoring and Assessing Science Learning: 30 Nov, 1-4pm
Session 2: Substantive and Disciplinary Knowledge: 11 Jan 2022, 1-4pm
Session 3: Effective Monitoring to Maximise Progress in Science : 08 Feb 2023, 1-4pm
Session 4: Working Scientifically: 09 Mar 2023, 1-4pm
Session 5: Misconceptions about Science and how to address them: 02 May 2023, 1-4pm
Outcomes
Session 1:
- Have a deeper understanding of the Impact of Ofsted Research report
- Set up processes for managing, monitoring, and assessing science learning across the school in line with Ofsted criteria
- Discover new and creative ways to enrich and enhance your teaching of science in line with excellent practice.
Session 2:
- Have a deeper understanding of the Impact of Ofsted Research report
- Understand the difference between substantive & disciplinary knowledge.
Session 3:
- Have a deeper understanding of the Impact of Ofsted Research report
- Effectively monitor your students’ achievement and set meaningful targets to maximise progress in science
- Discover new and creative ways to enrich and enhance your teaching of science in line with excellent practice
- Discover new and creative ways to enrich and enhance your teaching of science in line with excellent practice.
Session 4:
- Have a deeper understanding of the Impact of Ofsted Research report
- Identify different ways to ‘Work Scientifically’ and use these to develop your pupils’ attainment and progression
- Discover new and creative ways to enrich and enhance your teaching of science in line with excellent practice.
Session 5:
- Have a deeper understanding of the Impact of Ofsted Research report
- Become aware of children’s misconceptions about science and know how to address them
- Discover new and creative ways to enrich and enhance your teaching of science in line with excellent practice.
