· Receive training on the Royal Academy of Engineering’s latest Education resource; This is Engineering; Water.
· Try out activities linked to topics such as biodiversity, invasive species, flood defence, plastic ocean pollution, tackling oil spills, water based renewable energy and water sample analysis. These activities can be integrated into the curriculum or used in STEM cubs, collapsed timetable events etc.
· Receive a box of physical equipment following the meeting containing everything needed to carry out the activities with students from KS2-4.
· Find out how your students can claim digital STEM badges to reward their commitment
· Find out how the GBSIOT can support your school with information, ideas, training, networking with Universities and employers and access to cutting edge STEM resources which can be loaned out to your school or used at the Institute
· Visit the brand new cutting edge GBSIOT building and explore the facilities available
Outcomes:
· Increased confidence on how to deliver areas of the STEM curriculum to KS2-4 students in a hands on engaging way
· A physical set of ready to go engineering based resources for your school
· Links made with other STEM teachers for sharing of best practise
· An understanding of how the GBSIOT can support your school to increase opportunities, aspirations and outcomes within STEM for our young people
How to claim:
1. Once you have attended the course, complete a GBSIOT New Supplier form and return
2. Send bank details to GBSIOT on headed paper
3. A Purchase Order (PO) will be sent in an invoice to be paid
Who is it for?
The analysis of class data is an essential tool to any teacher, head of department or SLT link line manager. The course will help support with class analysis, individual student breakdown and the support of discrete groups to inform all stakeholders of intervention and revision strategies. Through interactive sessions, delegates will model using data to raise attainment and progress for all groups of students.
